Where did your professional journey start and how did you get to where you are now?

My professional journey began at the age of 17 when I joined the family business. My parents had their own marketing and sales company where I was able to learn about building a business, digital marketing, creating and developing a team and sales strategies. Through working with them I was also able to grow my network and got exposed to the technology industry, specifically Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Technology. I was very fascinated and curious to learn more about it and its applications.  I used both time and money to invest in my learning the industry so that I can maximize it. While I was promoting the Industry throughout social media platforms, I started to get a lot of traction from people who Want to learn about this exciting technology. People were asking about how it works how did they get involved, and the opportunities available in the space. This is when I had a lightbulb moment to turn this into a business. I then created “Study Cryptos”, my Online cryptocurrency and Blockchain Academy, where individuals can go whenever they want and from wherever they are to learn about these exciting technologies.

What is the greatest transformation in technology you’ve witnessed in your career?

  • Cryptocurrency and Blockchain
  • The adoption of voice technologies

It’s difficult to pick just one. The growth and constant adaption in these areas are exciting and truly transform the way we live.

When you think about ‘women’ and ‘technology’ what comes to your mind first?

When I think of women and technology, I think of collaboration. I think of our amazing ability to bring together unique perspectives, strategies and innovative ideas to various projects. This is what makes us as women so valuable in the technology space.

We always hear there are not enough women working in Tech. What needs to happen to change that, which steps should be done to achieve gender equality in tech?

In order to have more women in technology, we have to make sure that tech companies are aware of this problem and are consciously making opportunities available for women.

In order to have more women in technology, we have to make sure that tech companies are aware of this problem and are consciously making opportunities available for women. When it comes to making technology companies care about hiring more women, we have to educate them on the positive outcomes of hiring women. To do that, we need our male alias to support and advocate for us as well as the women who are already in the tech space. We can create women initiatives that provide opportunities for women looking to learn about the industry and gain experience.

How different would our world be if more women worked in STEM?

Our world would be different if we had more women in STEM. Women bring new creative ideas, unique perspectives and different strategies when approaching projects. Even when it comes to understanding and relating to customers and understanding user experience, we do it the best. We are natural communicators and networkers and this allows us to bring unique skills and abilities.

Which was the best decision in your career?

The best decision I made in my career was to find a mentor.

The best decision I made in my career was to find a mentor. Having a mentor allows you to leverage their experience and their network. This provides tons of opportunities and can make the learning curve easier. My mentor has guided me from the first day I decided to get into the technology space. She provided opportunities to learn and work in various spaces within the technology industry to help me find an area that I like and passionate about. I was also able to establish key connections with other leaders in the industry to help further my career and help me launch my current business, Study Cryptos.

What advice would you give to women who want a tech career?

Even if there aren’t any opportunities available, create your own opportunity! You can do it!

My advice to women who are looking to get into the technology space is the same as Nike’s tag line… “Just do it!” haha. Go after every opportunity you can find to learn more about the technology space, connect with people that are in the specific technology role or industry that you want, and take the time to educate and learn about the industry. Even if there aren’t any opportunities available, create your own opportunity! You can do it!
